Two Weeks Out
We’re officially two weeks out.
A few last-minute items are still arriving—rain pants, gloves, and a couple of small additions we decided were worth having. This week is our final bit of training, and then the bikes get broken down and packed into their boxes. The last week before departure will be a full rest week to gear up for what’s to come.
When you’re in the day-to-day grind, it’s easy to stay on autopilot—plan, train, work, repeat. It all kind of feels like a distant idea. But now that everything is ready, it’s wild to realize we’re actually doing this. Time is going to fly.
I only have six more shifts at work, and Shaun will be grinding away at his job until we leave.
I’m so looking forward to how simple life becomes once we’re on the route. Everything unnecessary falls away. The days narrow down to movement, weather, and where we land at night.
I’m ready to get out of routine and ready to get out of the comfort zone.
Twelve days. Thirteen hours. Fifty-five minutes.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading.
We’ll see you on the other side.
